Soar Research Foundation (SRF) was established as a mission-oriented Contract Research Organization (CRO) in Uganda, with their main offices in Mbarara City, South-Western region in Uganda. At SRF,We Do, Teach and Support research. SRF was established as a grass-root research consultancy in 2010 and later incorporated as a licensed CRO company in Uganda in 2019 after 9 years of piloting its model of operation. SRF was established as an intervention that is aimed at promoting research excellence in Africa particularly in areas that are related to health. This health-focus was based on the recognition of health as a major human right and a major cause of human crises and impoverishment in Africa.

SRF offers services of implementing and coordinating a wide-spectrum of research that partly include; observational studies, feasibility studies, program evaluations, systematic reviews and meta-analysis and Clinical trials. SRF is a partner to international entities and helps with implementing and overseeing global health research engagements. SRF Vision is: To become an international one-stop centre for research excellence promotion in low-resource settings. SRF Mission is: To create reliable and efficient infrastructure for quality research implementation, research consultancy and skills development. SRF is intentional towards:

• Establishing services, platforms, and infrastructure to raise and enhance researchers’ knowledge and skill sets within the context of SRF partnership framework.
• Establishing Researcher Expert support services to ensure methodological quality and data integrity in research implementation to increase the confidence needed for research dissemination and utilization within the context of SRF partnership framework.
• Establishing standard infrastructure, systems, expert human resource and platforms (consortiums) for research implementation and resource mobilization to enhance research activity within the context of SRF partnership framework.

SRF is composed of a group of talented experienced Clinical researchers and academic professionals who are majorly outsourced from academic and non-academic sectors. Our staff are highly qualified, they are holders of different degrees (PhD, MPhil, MD, or MSc), postgraduate diplomas, university professorships and other scientific certificates. We also outsource and bring together a multidisciplinary team of consultants and researchers that offer excellent support and training to researchers and can implement diverse research studies. We have significant professional experience in CRO business, regulatory environment in Uganda and academic environment as a product of our long pilot phase and work in low resource settings. We are consistent in the delivery of our quality services. We have a well-established data management and quality assurance team. Since its conception, SRF has supported the implementation of over 340 research projects, 22 of which are contracted independent projects.
